Funeral services for Olive resident, Wayne Franklin, were held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012 in the Olive First Baptist Church with Rev. George Brock officiating.  Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery near Yale, Okla., with Mike Franklin, Dack Pearson, Bryan Woods, Andy Bryant, Anthony Franklin, Jessie Lynn serving as casket bearers.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael's Funeral Home of Drumright.

 Wayne Franklin was born in Cushing, Okla., on Oct. 4, 1924 to the late James Franklin & Elfreda (Shatwell) Franklin. He passed from this life in Drumright on July 29, 2012 at the age of 87 years, nine months, & 25 days.  Wayne was raised & educated near Cushing in the Norfolk area. He had worked all his life as a rancher & insurance salesman for Oklahoma Farmers Union Insurance Company & maintained an office in Mannford for many years.  He was a member of the Olive First Baptist Church, loved to sing, & was an avid supporter & worker with many missions, especially Camp Lela near Glencoe.  On March 4, 1967 he married his wife, Marie, & they have remained together until his death.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four Brothers: Jess, Marvin, Dade, & Lennord Franklin; & a Sister: Grace Franklin.

 His remaining family includes his Wife: Marie Franklin of the home; Son: Gary Franklin of Yale; Daughter: Sandra Pearson of Colorado; four Grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
