Theresa Anne Morris, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 at the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 49 years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Cushing, Okla. Rev. Gary Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Flynn Cemetery, Cushing, Okla.
The daughter of the late John Burton Roberts and Kathleen (Rogan) Roberts, Theresa was born on Nov. 9, 1962 in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was raised and educated in the Oklahoma City area, attending John Marshall High school, graduating in 1981. Theresa married Mike Morris on June 25, 1988 in the Perkins First Baptist Church. She furthered her education at OSU graduating in 1986 with degrees in Animal Science and Agriculture Education. Theresa had taught Vo-Ag at Guthrie High School for one year, she then owned and operated her own greenhouse as well as driving a school bus, she then began teaching Horticulture at the Cimarron Correctional Facility for 13 years.
Theresa enjoyed gardening, teaching and taking care of cattle, she was involved in the Farmers Market, the revitalization of downtown Cushing, and was a Master Gardner. She enjoyed her children very much and enjoyed being involved in the FFA and Band Booster Clubs with them.
Survivors include her husband Mike of the home; two children, Michael Taylor Morris and Meagan Christine Morris of the home; brother, Craig Roberts and wife Sylvia of Oklahoma City; sister, Brenda Roberts-Dick of Cushing, mother-in-law Lula Morris of Cushing, Brother-in-laws Leon Morris and wife Mary of Perkins, Roger Morris and wife Debbie of Cushing, numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
