Richard A. Dean 74 of McAlester, Okla., passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
His service will be held 10:00 a.m Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at Yale Church of God – Yale, Okla.
Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens – Stillwater, Okla., under direction of Bishop Funeral Service Officiating Rev. Michael Clark
Richard was born on Feb. 18, 1938 in Yale, Okla., to Frank Wilham & Elmina Lynch Dean. He attended schools in Yale, Okla. Richard lived in Yale & Oregon and several places all over the United States. He worked on an oil derrick in Drumwright, Okla., and drove a truck for the local Dr. Pepper distributor. Richard later became a self-employeod brick layer and did many of the buildings on Oklahoma State University campus. He retired when he was 55 but the phone calls kept coming for his brick laying skills of which he was very proud of. Richard was a member of the Yale Church of God.
Survivors: Children & Spouses: Linda & Jim Hurst of Athens, Pa., Rosalie & David Boggs of Oolagah, Okla., Rick & Athena Dean of Tulsa, Okla., Bobby Stimits of Fla.; Brother & sister-in-law: Ferlan & Yvonne Dean of Yale, Okla.; Sister: Marie Blackwell of Manford, Okla.; eight Grandchildren and nine Great-Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; a child, Kimberly Eslick; a sister, Mary Lou Roberts & a grandson, Kye Thompson.
