Robert Rees Linn

Robert Rees Linn, 72, of Stillwater, passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at his home in Stillwater.  He was born Oct. 15, 1940, in Gilman, Colo., to Rees Goodman Linn and Ruth Alevia Bauman.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Community Funeral Home, Guthrie with interment following at Evansville Cemetery, Meridian, under the direction of Community Funeral Home. Pastor Mark LaMarr officiated.

Robert grew up and attended schools in Enid. He signed up at the age of 15 with the Army National Guard and served with the 45th Infantry for eight years, while still in high school. Upon graduation in 1959, he married Fay Hutheson on Oct. 24, 1959, in Enid.

Robert moved from Enid and relocated in Norman.  He and his family later moved to Tulare, Calif., then to San Diego, Calif., and onto Lakeside, Calif. He then moved to Guthrie, in March 1978 and later to Stillwater in 1999

He was a member of the Coyle Assembly Church.  Robert was thought of as a “jack of all trades” working as a sheet metal worker, master welder, carpenter, scuba diving instructor, heat and air service tech, pilot mechani, and an automotive mechanic.

He is predeceased by his parents and two grandchildren, Christopher Taylor and Jeremy Lee Stalnaker.  Robert is survived by his wife Fay of the home, retiring after 15 years of Wal-Mart services, three sons, Robert II (Tessa) of Edmond, Danny (Kristi) of Guthrie, Donny of Stillwater; three daughters, Tammy LeGrande (Gary) of Edmond, Debbie Mahurin of Oklahoma City, and Clarees Sell (Eric) of Kingfisher. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one brother, Chuck (Shannon) of Florida, and two sisters Berna Chelf (Richard) of Kremlin, and Clara Ann Linn of Enid.

Robert enjoyed bowling, woodworking, fishing, hunting, boating, tinkering with old cars, gun collecting and was a Golden Glove boxing champion. He especially enjoyed his 1969 F150 custom hot rod. Robert enjoyed all his family and will truly be missed by all who knew him.
