William (Bill) Richard Pohl went to be with the Lord on Aug. 9, 2013. Memorial services were held Saturday, Aug. 17, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 440 N. Columbia St., Milledgeville, Ga.
Bill was born July 14, 1953, in Wilmington, Del., and lived in Princeton, N.J.; Uppsala, Sweden; Cambridge, England; Stillwater, where he graduated from high school in 1972; and Newton, Kan., before moving to Milledgeville where he made his home for the past 18 years.
Bill was a member of NAMI Oconee, the Old Capitol Kiwanis Club and Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served as custodian both officially and unofficially. He was a friend to many people in the Milledgeville area.
Bill was the son of the late Dr. Herbert A. Pohl and Eleanor R. Pohl. Surviving are Bill’s siblings, Douglas (Gail) of Milledgeville; Pat Pohl Langdon of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Elaine Pohl Oltmans of Madison, Wisc.; and Charles (Gail) of Little Rock, Ark. Bill had 12 nieces and nephews, as well as 27 grand-nieces and nephews.
