John Michael Mahoney, 73, of Stillwater took leave of his bodily confines to join his parents on Aug. 25, 2013. Interment will be private and held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Russell, Kan.
John was born in Garden City, Kan., on March 6, 1940m to Joseph Martin Mahoney and Marie Antoinette (Cecelia) Pivonka. He graduated from Russell High School and entered the Marine Corps.
Upon leaving the USMC, John served in the San Diego Police Department. For family reasons, he returned to Kansas, and worked for R.C. Williams. Later in life, John moved to Oklahoma City where he was employed by a number of the local auto dealerships.
His parents Joseph and Marie preceded him in death as did his brother Joey as well as his nephews, Randall Dusay and Stanley Tenan.
John is survived by his daughter Monica Marie, her husband, George A. Anderson IV, their sons, Andy V. and Addison of North Little Rock, Ark.; his son Michael John Mahoney his wife Tamra, and their children Cole, Blake and Isabella of Oklahoma City; his sisters Mary Ann Mahoney of Arvada, Colo., Marj Dusay of New York City, N.Y. and Kathy Dunn of Stillwater, and a brother, Tim Mahoney of Wichita, Kan., as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
