Linda Sue Rodgers

Linda Sue Rodgers, 70, died on Nov. 29, 2012 in Stillwater, Okla. Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 at Strode Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, Okla., with Reverend Mike Chaffin officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Linda was born on Oct. 13, 1942 to Champ Lee and Mildred (Parker) Hodgens in Savanna, Okla. She attended OSU where she received a BA in English. She later earned her Masters of Library Science from OU, and went on to work as a Librarian and Realtor. She married Richard Albert Rodgers on May 24, 1964 in Stillwater, Okla. Linda was a member of the Stillwater Library Board, O Club, and Mid-Del-Moore Association of Realtors. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, and volunteered on Thursday evenings to cook meals and also delivered Food for Kids. She was a strong OSU fan and supporter, and enjoyed many bus trips as she followed the Cowgirl basketball games.

She is preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother, Mildred Hodgens; husband of 48 years, Richard Rodgers; son, Dustin Lee Rodgers, and his wife, Yonnette; two grandchildren, Brianna Lee Rodgers and Brittney Anne Rodgers; and one sister, Kay Kloecker.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the First United Methodist Church at 400 W. 7th St., Stillwater, OK 74074.
