Martin Eugene Horinek, 83, died on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, in Stillwater. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at St. John the Evangelist University Parish with Father Stuart Crevcoure officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Martin was born on Dec. 22, 1929, in Newkirk, to Louie C. and Christine (Vap) Horinek. He attended Oklahoma A & M for a short time before starting a career as a salesman in the commercial glass business. A loyal patriot, Martin enlisted in the United States Army where he earned five Bronze Star Medals during the Korean War before being honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. He married Andrea Pearson in Stillwater on Nov. 25, 1954. Together, they lovingly raised their daughter, and enjoyed 58 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea Horinek, of Stillwater; daughter, Christy L. Moore, and her husband, Delbert, and their son, Karsten, all of Edmond.; brother, Don Horinek, and his wife, Sue, of Wabasha, Minn.; brother, Bob Horinek, and his wife, Kay, of Newkirk; brother, Frank Horinek, and his wife, Betty, of Newkirk; and sister, Joan Higgs, and her husband, Jim, of Myersville, Md.
