— Marion Eugene VanCoevering, 94, of Coyle, passed away on March 3, 2013.

He was born Nov. 10, 1918 in Pleasant Valley in Logan County to Marinus VanCoevering, originally of Schore, Holland, and Jenny Arnold, originally of Versailles, Mo.

A lifelong resident of Payne County, Marion was a devoted father, husband and farmer/rancher.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Harriett Rebecca (Hicks) VanCoevering, as well as four children: Linda Harjo and her husband Jimmy, of Konawa; Georgia Dobson and her husband Carl, of Stillwater; Kay Ryan and her husband James, of South Haven, Kan.; and Gene VanCoevering of Coyle; and five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

 Marion is preceded by his brother, Adrian VanCoevering, and sister, Elizabeth (VanCoevering) Rollins.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Clarkson Cemetery, c/o Strode Funeral Home, PO Box 487, Stillwater, OK 74076, or to Judith Karman Hospice at PO Box 818, Stillwater, OK 74076.

Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at Clarkson Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday at Strode Funeral Home Chapel.
