Oklahoma State to host former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice
STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State University will host a former secretary of state and national security adviser for its 24th annual Global Briefing Series.
“Remarks by Condoleezza Rice” will be presented 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, in Gallagher-Iba Arena on the Stillwater campus.
Daniel Darnell, OSU International Outreach events and promotions coordinator, said Rice will present a 20-minute briefing and then answer questions for 40 minutes.
Written questions will be submitted as people enter the arena doors for the program. Darnell said the university is expecting between 3,000 and 4,000 attendees. Tickets go on sale Monday.
Rice will be made a Henry G. Bennett Distinguished Fellow following her presentation.
Cindy Barrick, program coordinator for the OSU Center for Executive and Professional Development, said Rice would complete an “Inside OSU” segment with OSU President Burns Hargis before she leaves Stillwater.
Rice was national security adviser to former President George W. Bush 2001-2005 and the 66th secretary of state from 2005-2009.
She is the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution and a Stanford University professor of political science.
Tickets are required to attend and can be purchased at the Global Briefing Series Web site.
Tickets are $10 for the public and free for OSU students, faculty and staff. Tickets will be sold for $15 at the door.
