Regents increase tuition for Oklahoma State, Langston University

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents Friday approved tuition increases of just under 5 percent for OSU undergrad students and just over 7 percent for graduate students.

The panel OKed 3.5 percent tuition hikes for Langston University undergraduate students living in Oklahoma and 4.4 percent for out-of-state students.

Regents also approved merit-based raises of at least $1,000 for OSU faculty and staff with satisfactory evaluations.

"If you don't pay competitive compensation, you run the risk of losing some real talent," OSU President Burns Hargis said.

It is the first raise in three years.

Hargis told employees Thursday the university's top administrators had chosen to forgo raises this year.
