BREAKING NEWS: Gundy announces Mike Yurcich as new OSU offensive coordinator

STILLWATER, Okla. — So much for seven to 10 days.

Less than 24 hours after giving a time frame of a week in deciding the offensive coordinator, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy already made his decision by announcing Mike Yurcich as the new offensive coordinator Thursday morning via Twitter: "Proud to announce Mike Yurcich as the new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at #okstate."

Yurcich, a relative unknown nationally, spent the past two seasons at Division II Shippensburg (Pa.) as the offensive coordinator, after five seasons filling the same role at Division II Edinboro University. He'll be Oklahoma State's third offensive coordinator in four seasons after Dana Holgorsen and more recently Todd Monken, left the Cowboys to accept head coaching jobs at the Division I level.

Yurcich helped Shippensburg rank first nationally among Division II schools in total offense and second nationally in scoring offense with more than 46 points per game. His only Division I experience came in 2003-04 when he served as a graduate assistant and receivers coach at the University of Indiana.

A 1999 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, Yurcich played quarterback for three seasons in college.

Here's a video from Yurcich's high school days.
