ALERT: OSU Cowgirls lead Oklahoma at the half
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Andrea Riley has picked up right where she left off by scoring 43 points in Friday's quarterfinal win over Iowa State in the Big 12 Women's Basketball Tournament.
Riley has 21 points at the half on 9 of 13 shooting from the field as the Cowgirls lead the Oklahoma Sooners 40-36 after the first 20 minutes.
Like on Friday against Iowa State, OSU jumped out to a big early lead, leading by 12 points on two different occassions in the first half. The Cowgirls led 38-27 with 5:11 to go in the half before Oklahoma used a 9-0 run to pull within 38-36.
But Riley hit a jumper from the left baseline with under 17 seconds left to give OSU its halftime lead.
The Cowgirls shot 50 percent in the first half (17 of 35) and outrebounded the Sooners 19-17.
Tegan Cunningham has 9 points for OSU.
Amanda Thompson leads OU with 15 points while Danielle Robinson has 10.
