OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. —
Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team posted a 287 during its second round on Monday at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational to remain in fifth place at Olympia Fields Country Club.
Through 36 holes, the Cowboys stand at 580, 20-over par, and two shots behind Florida State and Northwestern for third place. Arkansas posted a 2-under 278 to extend its lead to 12 strokes at the par-70, 7,080-yard layout. The Razorbacks will begin their final round with a 561 total, while Auburn sits in second place at 573.
Arkansas’ Sebastian Cappelen fired a 67 during his second round to move to the top of the individual leaderboard at 3-under 137.
OSU freshman Jordan Niebrugge posted a 1-over 71 to move into a tie for 14th place at 144.
Sophomore Patrick Winther posted his second consecutive 73 to stand in a tie for 23rd place at 146, while a pair of Cowboys were at stroke back at 147 and tied for 29th. Senior Sean Einhaus posted a 72, while sophomore Tanner Kesterson matched Niebrugge for the squad’s low round of the day with a 71.
Freshman Wyndham Clark finished the day tied for 36th place at 149 after signing for a 77.
The Cowboys will get their final round underway at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday and will be grouped with Northwestern and Florida. Live scoring for the event is available at golfstat.com.
