STILLWATER, Okla. —

On Saturday, for the 107th Bedlam matchup between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, there will be more than one Gundy on the sideline as OSU’s coach Mike’s younger brother, Cale is the Sooners’ running backs coach. Earlier in the season, Oklahoma State’s coach mentioned he’s gone months without talking to his brother. At Monday’s media luncheon he jokingly brought up another family member.

“During the season I can go months without talking to my wife,” Gundy said. “Sometimes that’s based on how well we play and it’s not my decision that’s hers.”

Gundy expalined that he doesn’t talk with Cale a lot during the season because they have similar schedules.

“We come in and go home at the same time,” Gundy said. “He recruits and I recruit. Because we have kids the same age he does a better job of keeping in touch than we have. They are always coming over to our house. It’s just the way it is during the season. There isn’t much time to talk on the phone.
