STILLWATER, Okla. —
Oklahoma State senior defensive tackle Calvin Barnett was named to his fourth watch list of the preseason on Monday when the candidates for the Rotary Lombardi Award were announced by award’s committee members.
Eligibility for the Rotary Lombardi Award is limited to down linemen, end-to-end, either on offense or defense, who set up no farther than 10 yards to the left or right of the ball, or linebackers who set up no farther than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage. The candidates earned a place on the preliminary watch list by earning All-American honors, being named to their respective all-conference teams or receiving 2013 pre-season honors.
Barnett had previously been named to watch lists for the Nagurski Trophy, Bednarik Award and Outland Trophy.
Barnett is a Tulsa Washington product. He was a first-team All-Big 12 selection during his 2012 junior season and was named as the Big 12 defensive newcomer of the year. He has been a popular choice as a 2013 preseason All-America candidate.
