STILLWATER, Okla. —
Add Todd Monken’s name to the list of potential Tulane Green Wave replacements for coach Bob Toledo.
Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy confirmed Tuesday that Tulane athletic officials want to talk to Monken about their open coaching spot. Toledo resigned after the Green Wave opened the season 2-5. Offensive line coach Mark Hutson was picked as interim coach. The team is 2-10 heading into Saturday’s season finale against Hawaii.
Toledo took over at Tulane in 2007 and compiled a 15-40 record in 4 1/2 years.
Monken re-joined the Oklahoma State coaching staff this season. He replaced offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen who is now the skipper at West Virginia. Holgorsen served as OSU’s offensive coordinator for one season.
Monken was wide receivers coach for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguards from 2007-2010. He was passing game coordinator at Louisiana State University from 2005-2006 and was passing game coordinator wide receivers coach at Oklahoma State from 2002 to 2004.
