STILLWATER, Okla. —
Oklahoma University will look to defend its home turf against the visiting Texas Tech Red Raiders.
“It’s very important,” Shamiel Gary said. “Obviously it’s another win in our column. You never want anyone to come in here and beat you on your own field.
Homefield advantage has been key in the series. From 2002 to 2009 the home team won the matchup. The Cowboys broke the pattern in 2010 with a 34-17 victory, their first in Lubbock since 1944. The next year, OSU followed with a 66-6 rout in the Hub City.
“It was a big deal to go out there and win in the fashion we did,” linebacker Shaun Lewis said. “That really gives us a lot of confidence to play against that type of team and dominated the gameplan and executed everything our coaches asked us to.”
The Red Raiders haven’t won in Stillwater since 2001.
