State transportation panel considers I-40 Crosstown to downtown OKC link

Associated Press

OKLAHOMA CITY — A plan to award a nearly $9 million contract to build a west end of the new Interstate 40 Crosstown that connects the interstate to downtown Oklahoma City is among the items scheduled for consideration by the Oklahoma Transportation Commission.

The commission will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday at the R.A. Ward Transportation Building in Oklahoma City.

Department of Transportation Director Mike Patterson is also expected to brief the panel on a recent study by a national group that highlights the agency’s progress in reducing the number of structurally deficient highway bridges.

Patterson will also update the commission on how the department is continuing to help with storm recovery efforts following the May tornadoes.

ODOT field divisions also will be recognized for their tornado-cleanup efforts.
