• Tom Kuzmic, professor of forestry in the department of natural resource ecology and management at Oklahoma State University, received the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture Southern Regional Outstanding Teacher Award at its annual conference at Penn State University in June.
Kuzmic was cited for his dedication to providing high quality, field-based, experiential learning opportunities for OSU students in forestry and natural resources for 30 years. He has served as the director his department’s forestry summer camp program since 1980 and has led a short-term study abroad course in Honduras for 12 years.
He was awarded the Carl Alwin Schenck Award for outstanding teaching by the Society of American Foresters in 2004.
