1 What does Big Brothers Big Sisters do?
We help children reach their potential by matching them to a caring adult in a one-to-one mentoring relationship where a friendship is built to change the child’s life for the better.
2 How is the organization funded?
We hold two fundraisers annually: The Big Night Benefit Auction coming up on March 8 and our Bowl for Kids’ Sake campaign, which kicks off on March 13. We also rely on individual gifts and are a partner agency of the Stillwater Area United Way.
3 What can the community expect at the Big Night Benefit Auction?
We are planning a fun Roaring Twenties themed event with a live jazz band from the University of Central Oklahoma Jazz Lab at 6:30 p.m. March 8 in the Oklahoma State University Wes Watkins Center. Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple. A table for 10 can be reserved for $250. Reserve tickets online at bbbsbignight.org
4 What happens at Bowl for Kids Sake?
Bowl for Kids’ Sake starts March 13 with a kickoff party to give participants the tools to recruit a team of five to raise $500 on behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters. The event is April 21-27.
5 How can the community help?
Buying a ticket to the auction is a great way to support the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Auction items or other donations are being accepted. Corporate sponsorships are also available. Call 405-624-9922 for details.
