Q5: Eskimo Joe’s celebrates 39th birthday

STILLWATER, Okla. — Eskimo Joe’s, founded in 1975, will be celebrating its 39th birthday beginning Monday. Giveaways, bands, specials and more will take place Monday through July 20. Kendra Moreland, director of public relations for Stan Clark Companies and Eskimo Joe’s, shared some details about the event.

1 How does this year’s activities compare to those in the past?

We’ve got a stellar lineup for EJ’s 39th anniversary – literally, something for all ages during the week. And you can win a prize just for coming in to eat, so be sure to check your silverware roll-ups. We’re giving away prizes all week long.

2 What are some of the biggest activities and events throughout the week?

Too much to list, but we have two very cool shirt designs being unveiled next week, plus some great concerts and a couple of special events. Check it all out and see each day’s activities at www.eskimo-joes.com.

3 During the Coaches vs. Cancer Celebrity Waiter night, who are some of the former OSU coaches and athletes who will participate?

Our OSU Coaches vs. Cancer group is fortunate to have strong support from many of our OSU sports, although nationally, it started with basketball. It’s a working list, but we’ve extended invites to coaches from men’s and women’s basketball, golf, tennis, baseball, softball, football, wrestling and even equestrian. Several former players have indicated their participation, including Tracy Moore, Luke Phillips and Charlie Johnson (football), Ivan McFarlin (basketball) and Andrea Riley (basketball) to name a few, plus several of our CvC heroes – the kids battling cancer – will be on-hand helping with the efforts.

4 Who are some of the musical acts who will perform throughout the week?

Chad Sullins and the Last Call Coalition are headlining our Stars & Stripes benefit on Monday night for Folds of Honor Foundation, plus Wednesday night will be big featuring Red Dirt acoustic acts Tequila Songbirds, Red Dirt Rangers, Brandon Jackson and more. And don’t forget Hosty Duo on Friday.
