STILLWATER, Okla. — Timothy Baghurst, an assistant professor in health and human performance at Oklahoma State University, came up with the concept of Mud U, which will take place April 26-27.
1 So what exactly is Mud U and who can participate?
Mud U is a muddy obstacle course for children between the ages of 6-13 at Lake McMurtry here in Stillwater.
2 How much does it cost to participate?
It is $25 for an individual or $23 if you are part of a team. Teams are groups of five to eight.
3 What’s the purpose of the event?
It’s purpose is to provide children and youth with the opportunity to participate in this kind of event that has been available for adults.
4 Why did you create the event?
With my background in health and human performance, if somebody was going to design one it should be me.
5 How is this different than a typical children’s run?
We have developed 15 obstacles that they have to progress through. Parents get to sign their child for a specific time. Parents don’t have to be there all day.
