The city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center will provide a busy week for seniors 50 and older.
Special events coming up include blood pressure checks at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and September birthdays will be celebrated with a potluck luncheon at noon on Friday.
Bring a food dish to share or pay $3 per person and enjoy the good food and fellowship.
Monday: Women’s pool and painting class, 9:30 a.m. Afternoon activities start at 1 p.m. and include bridge, canasta, dominoes, pool and snooker.
Tuesday: Sit ‘n Be Fit, 9:30 a.m. Line dancing, 10:30 a.m. Wii games and ping pong are available. Nursing students from Northern Oklahoma College of Nursing will check blood pressure from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointment needed. Afternoon activities include duplicate bridge, Texas Hold’em, Mexican Train dominoes, canasta, pitch, Skipbo, puzzle solving, snooker, pool and dominoes. A representative from Veteran Affairs is available from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Wednesday: Women’s pool, Wii games, ping pong, 9:30 a.m. Exercise equipment is available. Afternoon games begin at 1 p.m. and include canasta, dominoes, Texas Hold’em, pitch, puzzles, pool and snooker. “A Warrior's Heart,” will be shown at 2 p.m.
Thursday: Sit ‘n Be Fit, 9:30 a.m. Wii Fit, 10:30 a.m. At 1:00 p.m. you can join in games of canasta, dominoes, social bridge, pitch, pool, snooker, and puzzle solving. Afternoon activities include canasta, dominoes, social bridge, pitch, pool, snooker and puzzles. Bingo, 2 p.m. Music night, 6 p.m. Doors reopen at 5:30 p.m.
Friday: Women’s pool, painting, 9:30 a.m. Exercise equipment, Wii games and ping pong also available. The September birthday luncheon will be held at noon. Afternoon games include canasta, pool, snooker, pitch, dominoes and puzzles.
Last weeks winners of bridge were Marge Jones, first, and Deloris Sanders, second. Other bridge winners were Norma Burk, first, and Lynn Fent, second. Duplicate bridge winning partners were Al Perry and Lionel Raff, first, and Betty Lowrey and Murna Raf, second. Texas Hold'em winners of the week were Shirley Crockett and Betty Shields. Betty Maney was the champion of a Texas Hold ‘em winner’s game.

Stillwater Senior Center, 1015 E. 12th Ave., 747-8080, is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday night for music night. The facility is closed on the weekends.
