— Highlights this week at the city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center are free tax help and massages.

The center is offering income tax help one more day from 9:30 a.m. to noon Monday. The free income tax service is provided by trained AARP volunteers. No appointments are necessary. Bring last year’s return if possible and all other necessary information and identification.

Paul Hirsch of Magic Touch is providing neck and shoulder massages at 1 p.m. Thursday. Sign up when you arrive.

For more information about activities, stop by 1015 E. 12th to pick up a calendar of events or call 405-747-8080.  Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday for music night.

A Thursday afternoon social bridge group is trying to get enough members to begin again. Leave your name and telephone number with the office staff if you are interested in playing bridge.

Monday: Women pool players and artists get together starting at 9:30 a.m. There is exercise equipment available throughout the week including a treadmill, weight set and an exercise bike.

 The afternoon crowd enjoys playing various games every day such as bridge, canasta, dominoes, pool and snooker. A jigsaw puzzle table is set up with a puzzle to solve each day.

Tuesday: Limber up with the free Sit ‘n Be Fit exercise class meeting Tuesday and Thursday. Exercises are low impact. The 45-minute workout involves exercises while sitting or standing by a chair utilizing hand weights, stretch bands and bouncing balls. Stay and practice some boot scootin’ line dancing or Wii games after the Sit ‘n Be Fit class. A pingpong table is available for use, too. A Veteran’s Affairs representative visits from 1 to 2:45 p.m. providing assistance with any veteran’s needs, questions or paper work pertaining to veteran’s assistance. No appointment is needed. A men’s pool tournament starts at 1 p.m.

Wednesday: The women pool players start at 9:30 a.m. Afternoon games begin at 1 p.m. including canasta, dominoes, Texas Hold’em, pitch, pool and snooker. The movie, “Hitchcock,” will be shown at 2 p.m.

Thursday: Sit ‘n Be Fit meets at 9:30 a.m. Massages by Paul Hirsch begin at 1 p.m. Doors open again at 5:30 p.m. for a night of music. The musicians start playing good ol’ country tunes at 6 p.m.

Friday: Pool and painting begin at 9:30 a.m. Bring art supplies and share ideas with other painters. Exercise equipment, a pingpong table or Wii are available. Afternoon games include cards, Texas Hold’em, dominoes, pool and snooker.

Last week’s bridge winners were Norma Burk, first, and Marge Reynolds, second.

Duplicate bridge winning partners were Lionel Raff and Al Perry, first, and Jane Anderson and Treca Baer, second.

Betty Shields was the Texas Hold’em champion. Gerald Stangl won the coed pool tournament.
