Senior Center Watch 06-09-13

Stillwater NewsPress

— The city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center will have a birthday luncheon at noon Friday to celebrate June birthdays.

Last week’s duplicate bridge winning partners were Al Perry and Lionel Raff, first, and Murna Raff and Betty Lowrey, second.  The Texas Hold’em champion for the week was Lula Mae Davis. Jack Ventris won the men’s pool tournament.

As the days grow warmer, the center is a fun place to keep out of the heat. While staying cool, all community members ages 50 and over can keep active with card games, pool and snooker, exercise classes, social and duplicate bridge, Texas Hold ‘em, canasta, pitch, dominoes, bingo, movies, Wii interactive games, line dancing, painting class, pingpong and musical entertainment.

Exercise equipment including a treadmill, weight set and exercise bike are available. A jigsaw puzzle table is always set up with a puzzle to solve.

A men’s pool tournament will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

Stop by to pick up a May calendar of events. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and  6-8:30 p.m. Thursday for music night.

If you are interested in joining a social or duplicate bridge group, then call 405-747-8080 or leave your name and number with a staff member.
