The city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center celebrates participant’s November birthdays with a potluck luncheon at noon Friday. Bring a food dish to share or pay $3 per person.
A signup sheet is available for a Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention class from 9:45 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. Nov. 12 at the center. Meridian Technology Center provides the class which is similar to a defensive driving class taught previously at the center. Check with vehicle insurance providers to see if taking the class qualifies for a discount. Stop by 1015 E. 12th for more information and make sure to pick up a November calendar of events. Hours are, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday for music night.

Monday: Doors open at 9:30 a.m. with women’s pool time and a painting class. Oil and acrylic painters bring their supplies and exchange creative ideas with each other. Afternoon activities start around 1 p.m. including bridge, canasta, pool, snooker, dominoes, and puzzle solving.
Tuesday: The free “Sit ‘n Be Fit” exercise class starts at 9:30 a.m. Some exercises are completed while sitting and some are executed standing by a chair. Bouncing balls, hand weights, and stretch bands are incorporated into the exercises for an extensive workout. Wii games and pingpong are always available. Afternoon activities include games such as duplicate bridge, dominoes, canasta, pitch, puzzle solving, snooker, pool and dominoes. A representative from Veteran’s Affairs visits 1 to 2:45 p.m. to help with any questions or paperwork pertaining to veteran’s assistance. No appointment is needed.
Wednesday: Pool practice starts at 9:30 a.m. A Wii interactive game set and a pingpong table are available. Exercise equipment which includes a treadmill, exercise bikes and a weight machine are available, too. Afternoon games begin about 1 p.m. A puzzle is always out. The dramatic movie, “The Magic of Belle Isle,” shows at 2 p.m.
Thursday: Time to start that exercise plan and get ready for the holidays. A good start is the “Sit ‘n Be Fit” exercise class meeting at 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Afterward, play some Wii games or pingpong. At 1 p.m., games such as canasta, dominoes, social bridge, pool, snooker and puzzle solving get started. Bingo is called at 2 p.m. Thursday evening, the doors open at 5:30 p.m. for a night of music.
Friday: Pool practice and the painting class start at 9:30 a.m. Exercise equipment is available, along with a pingpong table or Wii player. The birthday celebration potluck luncheon begins at noon. Games available in the afternoon.
Last week’s winners of bridge were Wally Reynolds, first, and Orlean Hunter, second. Other bridge winners were Lew Taylor, first, and Mia Owens, second. Duplicate bridge winning partners were Al Perry and Lionel Raff, first, and Penny Sizemore and Lucy Robinson, second. Texas Hold’em champions for the week were Betty Shields and Maxine Morgan.
