Senior Center Watch 08-12-12

The Stillwater Senior Activity Center offers many fun activities to keep seniors 50 and older busy having a good time. Don’t sit at home. Come socialize and make new friends.

Monday: Women’s pool and painting class, 9:30 a.m. Afternoon activities start at 1 p.m. and include bridge, canasta, dominoes, pool and snooker.

Tuesday: Sit ‘n Be Fit, 9:30 a.m. Line dancing, 10:30 a.m.  Wii games and ping pong are available. Afternoon activities start at 1 p.m. A representative from Veteran’s Affairs is available from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Wednesday: Women’s pool, Wii games, ping pong, 9:30 a.m. Exercise equipment is available. Afternoon games begin at 1 p.m. and include canasta, dominoes, Texas Hold’em, pitch, puzzles, pool and snooker.  “Mighty Macs,” will be shown at 2 p.m.

Thursday: Sit ‘n Be Fit, 9:30 a.m. Wii Fit, 10:30 a.m. Afternoon activities include canasta, dominoes, social bridge, pitch, pool, snooker and puzzles. Bingo, 2 p.m. Music night, 6 p.m. Doors reopen at 5:30 p.m.

Friday: Women’s pool, painting, 9:30 a.m. Exercise equipment, Wii games and ping pong also available. Afternoon games and coed pool tournament will start at  1 p.m.

Last week’s bridge winners were Janetta Loper, first, and Wally Reynolds, second. Other bridge winners were Linda Jamison, first, and Edith Flaming, second. Duplicate bridge winning partners were Camille Johnston and Terry Miller, first, and Norma Burk and Lew Taylor, second. Texas Hold’em winners of the week were Chestine Crane and Maxine Morgan. Shirley Crockett won the Texas Hold’em playoff game for the month.

If you are interested in joining a bridge group, social or duplicate, please call the center to receive information on how to join.

Stillwater Senior Center, 1015 E. 12th Ave., 747-8080, is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday night for music night. The facility is closed on the weekends.
