Senior Center Watch 07-28-13

Stillwater NewsPress

—   The city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center has a variety of activities to choose from for some summer fun.  Activities available for seniors, 50 and older, include card games such as social and duplicate bridge, canasta, pitch, Texas Hold’em and others. Get some exercise in a class or on your own with the exercise equipment — a treadmill, weight set and exercise bike. Practice your shots on the pool and snooker tables, get creative in the painting and craft class, win prizes playing bingo and enjoy musical tunes every Thursday during music night.  A jigsaw puzzle table is always set up with a puzzle to solve. There’s also bingo, movies, Wii interactive games, boot scootin’ line dancing and pingpong.

Stop by to pick up a July and August calendar of events. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday for music night. If you are interested in joining a social or duplicate bridge group, then call 405-747-8080 or leave your name and number with a staff member.

Champions for competitive games held last week were social bridge winners Betty Barefoot, first, and Norma Burk, second. Duplicate bridge winning partners were Lionel Raff and Al Perry, first, and Terry Miller and Meg Klecke, second. Texas Hold’em champions were Chestine Crane and Jean Hatcher.
