Senior Center Watch 09-16-12

 The city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center will offer a relaxing neck/shoulder massage at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on a first come first served basis.

These will be provided by Paul Hirsch, a licensed massage therapist.

Seniors 50 and older are welcome to join the center.



Monday: Women’s pool and painting class, 9:30 a.m. Afternoon activities start at 1 p.m. and include bridge, canasta, dominoes, puzzles, pool and snooker.



Tuesday: Sit ‘n Be Fit, 9:30 a.m. Line dancing, 10:30 a.m. Wii games and ping pong are available. Afternoon activities include duplicate bridge, Texas Hold’em, Mexican Train dominoes, canasta, pitch, Skipbo, puzzle solving, snooker, pool and dominoes. A representative from Veteran Affairs is available from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.



Wednesday:Women’s pool, Wii games, ping pong, 9:30 a.m. Exercise equipment is available. Afternoon games begin at 1 p.m. and include canasta, dominoes, Texas Hold’em, pitch, puzzles, pool and snooker. “Good Deeds”, will be shown at 2 p.m.



Thursday: Sit ‘n Be Fit, 9:30 a.m. Wii Fit, 10:30 a.m. At 1:00 p.m. you can join in games of canasta, dominoes, social bridge, pitch, pool, snooker, and puzzle solving. Afternoon activities include canasta, dominoes, social bridge, pitch, pool, snooker and puzzles. Bingo, 2 p.m. Music night, 6 p.m. Doors reopen at 5:30 p.m.



Friday: Women’s pool, painting, 9:30 a.m. Exercise equipment, Wii games and ping pong also available. The September birthday luncheon will be held at noon. Afternoon games include canasta, pool, snooker, pitch, dominoes and puzzles.



Last week’s winners of bridge were Penny Sizemore, first, and J.W. Thomas, second. Other bridge winners were Jean Herndon, first, and Lew Taylor, second. Duplicate bridge winning partners were Camille Johnston and Terry Miller, first, and Murna Raff, Betty Lowrey, Penny Sizemore, Lucy  Robinson, Lew Taylor, and Ina Lee Abels, all tied for second .

Texas Hold'em winners of the week were Betty Shields and Roy Parcell. In the pool news, Larry Leonard won a men's 8-ball pool tournament, Jack Ventris won the 9-ball tournament and in the tournament of the Stillwater Senior Center pool players versus Ponca City Senior Center, Stillwater reluctantly gave up the traveling trophy to Ponca City with a score of Ponca City, 22, and Stillwater, 14.

Stillwater Senior Center, 1015 E. 12th Ave., 747-8080, is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday night for music night.

The facility is closed on  weekends.
