— The  city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center is a fun place to participate in activities such as card games, pool and snooker, exercise classes,  dominoes, bingo, movies, painting groups and musical entertainment. Stop by 1015 E. 12th to pick up an April calendar of events. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday for music night. Take note for this week only, the movie “Lincoln” will show at 1 p.m. Wednesday instead of the usual 2 p.m. starting time.

 A Thursday afternoon social bridge group is trying to start again. If you are interested in joining a social or duplicate bridge group, then call 405-747-8080 to receive information on how to join or leave your name and phone number with the staff.

Monday: Activities start at 9:30 a.m. with women’s pool and an art class. Exercise equipment is available everyday including a treadmill, weight set and an exercise bike.

The afternoon crowd enjoys playing various games such as bridge, canasta, dominoes, pool and snooker. A jigsaw puzzle table is always set up with a puzzle to solve.

Tuesday: Free Sit ‘n Be Fit are offered at 9:30 a.m. A Veteran’s Affairs representative visits from 1 to 2:45 p.m. giving assistance pertaining to veteran’s questions or paper work. No appointment is needed.

Wednesday: The women pool players get out the pool sticks again for competition at 9:30 a.m. A Wii interactive game set and a pingpong table are available for use.

Texas Hold’em is played in the afternoon. The dramatic movie, “Lincoln.” will be shown at 1 p.m.

Thursday: Exercise with the Sit ‘n Be Fit exercise group at 9:30 a.m. A group of line dancers sometimes stay and have a good time stepping in time to the music. At 1 p.m., a men’s pool tournament is scheduled. Bingo is at 2 p.m.

Thursday evening the doors open back up at 5:30 p.m. for a night of music. The musicians start some good ol’ country tunes at 6 p.m.

Friday: Pool balls are dropping again as the women line up their shots beginning at 9:30 a.m. A painting group meets at 9:30 a.m. to express their ideas on canvas.  Exercise equipment is available for use, along with a pingpong   table.

Last week’s bridge winners were Dollie McClary, first, and Maxine Morgan, second.

The duplicate bridge winning partners were Treca Baer and Norma Buck, first, and Patricia Logan and Jerry Koelsch, second. The Texas Hold’em group met and the winners for the week were Lula Mae Davis and Darrell Davis.
