Senior Center Watch 05-05-13

The city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center will hold a potluck luncheon to celebrate May birthdays. The luncheon starts at noon Friday. Bring a food dish to share or pay $3 per person and enjoy the friendly fellowship.

Activities include card games, pool and snooker, exercise classes, bridge, Texas Hold ‘em, canasta, pitch, dominoes, bin-go, movies, Wii interactive games, line dancing, painting class, pingpong and musical entertainment.

Exercise equipment including a treadmill, weight set and exercise bike are available. A jigsaw puzzle table is always set up with a puzzle to solve.

Stop by 1015 E. 12th to pick up a May calendar of events. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday for music night.

A Thursday afternoon social bridge group is trying to start again. If you are interested in joining a social or duplicate bridge group, then call 405-747-8080 or leave your name and number with a staff member.

Last week’s bridge winners were Mallory Owen, first, and Wally Reynolds, second.  

The duplicate bridge winning partners were Al Perry and Lionel Raff, first, and Murna Raff and Betty Lowrey, second.  

The Texas Hold’em group met and the winners for the week were Betty Shields and Jean Hatcher.

Larry Leonard was the men’s pool tournament champion.

1 p.m. Afternoon games

Tuesday

9:30 a.m. Sit ‘n Be Fit low impact 45-minute exercise class

10:15 a.m. Line dancing

 and interactive Wii games

1 p.m. Afternoon games

1-2:30 p.m. A Veteran’s Affairs representative visits to help with paper work assistance and veterans’ questions. No appointment is needed.

Wednesday

9:30 a.m. Women’s pool

1 p.m. Afternoon games

2 p.m. Showing comedy movie

           “Parental Guidance”

Thursday

9:30 a.m. Sit ‘n Be Fit low impact 45-minute exercise class

10:15 a.m. Line dancing

 and interactive Wii games

1 p.m. Afternoon games

2 p.m. Bingo

5:30 p.m. Doors re-open for

                music night

6 p.m. Country music band

           begins playing

Friday

9:30 a.m. Women’s pool

9:30 a.m. Painting group

               (bring supplies)

12 p.m. Potluck luncheon

1 p.m. Afternoon games

  • Senior Center Watch 07-05-14

    The city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center will hold a defensive driving class, Vehicle Accident Prevention, sponsored by Meridian Technology Center. This class could get you a discount on your vehicle insurance, so check it out with your insurance provider.
    The class will take place Wednesday from 9:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. An hour lunch break will be taken. Call or stop by to sign up.
