Senior Center Watch 05-12-13

Paul Hirsch of Magic Touch is massaging necks and shoulders at 1 p.m. Thursday in the city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center, 1015 E. 12th. No appointment is needed. Massages will be provided on a first come first serve basis. Sign up when you arrive at the center.

Activities for senior citizens ages 50 and older include card games, pool and snooker, exercise classes, bridge, Texas Hold ‘em, canasta, pitch, dominoes, bingo, movies, Wii interactive games, line dancing, painting class, pingpong and musical entertainment.

Equipment for exercising including a tread-mill, weight set and exercise bike are available. A jigsaw puzzle table is always set up with a puzzle to solve.

Stop by to pick up a May calendar of events. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday for music night.

If you are interested in joining a social or duplicate bridge group, then call 405-747-8080 or leave your name and number with a staff member.

Last week’s bridge winners were Barbara Geiser, first, and Orlean Hunter, second.

The duplicate bridge winning partners were Murna Raff and Betty Lowrey, first, and Al Perry and Lionel Raff, second.

The Texas Hold’em champion for the week was Jean Hatcher.

9:30 a.m. Sit ‘n Be Fit

   low impact 45-minute

   exercise class

1-2:30 p.m.  A Veteran’s Affairs representative visits to help with paper work assistance. No appointment is needed.

Wednesday

9:30 a.m. Women’s pool

1 p.m. Afternoon games

2 p.m. Movie showing

    “From Time to Time”     

Thursday

9:30 a.m. Sit ‘n Be Fit

    low impact 45-minute

    exercise class

10:15 a.m. Line dancing

              and Wii games

1 p.m. Neck and shoulder

    The city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center will hold a defensive driving class, Vehicle Accident Prevention, sponsored by Meridian Technology Center. This class could get you a discount on your vehicle insurance, so check it out with your insurance provider.
    The class will take place Wednesday from 9:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. An hour lunch break will be taken. Call or stop by to sign up.
