Monday: Women’s pool playing and a painting class both begin at 9:30 a.m. Come bring your pool stick or use one from the center and enjoy some fun competition. The oil and acrylic painters bring their own supplies and exchange creative ideas with each other. Afternoon activities start around 1 p.m.
Tuesday: If you want to get out of the house and get some exercise, you need to check out the free “Sit ‘n Be Fit” exercise class offered every Tuesday and Thursday morning at the center. Chairs are provided for each person. Some exercises are completed sitting and some are executed standing by your chair. Bouncing balls, hand weights, and stretch bands are incorporated into the exercises for an extensive workout. After exercise, some of the participants stay and practice line dancing steps for fun. You are welcome to come kick-up-your-heels with them around 10:30 a.m. Afternoon activities involve games including duplicate bridge, dominoes, canasta, pitch, puzzle solving, snooker, pool and dominoes. A representative from Veteran’s Affairs visits 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. to help with any questions or paperwork you may have pertaining to veteran’s assistance. No appointment is needed.x
Wednesday: The women get out their pool sticks again for some fun practice starting at 9:30 a.m. A Wii interactive game set and a pingpong table are also available. Exercise equipment which includes a treadmill, exercise bikes, and weight machine are available. Afternoon games begin around 1 p.m. The movie, “Mirror Mirror,” will be shown at 2 p.m.
Thursday: Time to get in shape. The “Sit ‘n Be Fit” exercise class meets again at 9:30 a.m. Afterward, you can play some Wii games or pingpong. A group of line dancers sometimes stay and have a good time stepping in time to the music. Thursday evening, the doors open back up at 5:30 p.m. for a night of music.
Friday: Pool balls start rolling across the pool tables at 9:30 a.m. as the women get their pool sticks warmed up. The painting group members start coming in at the same time to get their paint brushes warmed up, too. Exercise equipment is available for use, along with a pingpong table or Wii player.
