Senior Center Watch 10-06-13

— The city of Stillwater senior citizens brought home the pool tournament trophy from the Ponca City team of seniors last week. Champions for competitive games at the center last week were social bridge winners Nor-ma Burk, first, and Mary Thomas, second. Duplicate bridge champions included winning partners Al Perry and Lionel Raff, first, and Meg Kletke and Penny Sizemore, second. The Texas Hold’em champion was Chestine Crane.

Stop by 1015 E. 12th Ave. to pick up an October calendar of events. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday for music night.

At 2 p.m. Wednesday, the center will show the movie, “Lake Effects.”

Special activities this week include the birthday luncheon where the city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center celebrates October birthdays with a potluck luncheon at noon Friday. Bring a food dish to share or pay $3 per person.  

Upcoming events include HomeCall’s sponsorship of a flu shot clinic from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 14. No appointments will be scheduled. The clinic will operate under a first come, first served basis. Bring a Medicare card.
