Senior Center Watch 09-01-13

The city of Stillwater Senior Activity Center will be closed Monday for Labor Day.

Activities available for seniors, 50 and older, resume on Tuesday including card games such as duplicate and social bridge, canasta, pitch, Texas Hold’em and various other activities like dominoes. Practice your shots on the pool and snooker tables or get creative sharing ideas in the painting and craft group on Monday and Friday morning.

Win prizes playing bingo and enjoy musical tunes every Thursday during music night. A jigsaw puzzle table is always set up with a puzzle to solve.

Get some exercise in a class or on your own using the center’s exercise equipment including a treadmill, weight set and exercise bike. Test your endurance in the free Sit ‘n be Fit class every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Wii interactive games, line dancing and pingpong can get you moving, too.

The woman’s pool playing group continues to meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Stop by 1015 E. 12th to pick up a September calendar of events. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday for music night. If you are interested in joining a social or duplicate bridge group, then call 405-747-8080 or leave your name and number with a staff member.

Champions for games held last week were social bridge winners Patricia Logan, first, and Lynn Fent, second. Duplicate bridge winning partners were Lionel Raff and Al Perry, first, and Murna Raff and Betty Lowrey, second. The Texas Hold’em champion was Lula Mae Davis.
