Bring last year’s return if possible and all other necessary information and identification.

From 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Home Call Home Health will be at the center to check blood pressure and blood sugar for seniors. Stop by 1015 E. 12th to pick up a February calendar of events. Hours are  9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday for music night. Call 405-747-8080 for more information on activities offered or instructions on how to join a social or duplicate bridge group at the center.

Monday: Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Women pool players gather around the tables for some fun competitive games of eight-ball. A group of artists come in with their art supplies and canvases to spend some time together expressing their creativity. There is also exercise equipment available  including a treadmill, weight set and an exercise bike. The afternoon crowd enjoys playing various games such as bridge, canasta, dominoes and pool/snooker. A jigsaw puzzle table is always set up with a puzzle to solve.

Tuesday: Take the opportunity to join a free exercise class held every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 9:30 to about 10:15 a.m. The “Sit ‘n Be Fit” class exercises are executed while sitting and some are completed while standing by a chair. Hand weights, stretch bands, and bouncing balls are all utilized during the 45-minute workout. Afterward, stay and practice some boot scootin’ line dancing or Wii games. A pingpong table is also available for use. In the afternoon, there is a choice of games that include canasta, duplicate bridge, dominoes, pitch, puzzle solving, snooker or pool. A Veteran’s Affairs representative visits from 1 to 2:45 p.m. to help with any questions or paper work you may have pertaining to veteran’s assistance. No appointment is needed.

Wednesday: Pool balls start falling again for the women pool players beginning at 9:30 a.m. They have a lively time with lots of laughs. Come join the fun! A Wii interactive game set, exercise equipment and a pingpong table are also available for us. Afternoon games begin around 1 p.m. which include canasta, dominoes, Texas Hold’em, pitch, pool and snooker. A puzzle is always out waiting for someone to find a piece. The biographical drama, The First Grader, will be shown at 2 p.m.

Thursday: Exercisers get started stretching again in the free “Sit ‘n Be Fit” class at 9:30 a.m. After class, play some Wii games or pingpong. A group of line dancers sometimes stay and have a good time stepping in time to the music. At 1 p.m. afternoon games such as canasta, dominoes, social bridge, pool, snooker and puzzle solving are played. At 2 p.m., bingo is called. A lot of laughs are always shared during this time. Don’t miss out on the good times. Thursday evening, the doors open back up at 5:30 p.m. for a night of music. The musicians tuned up and start some good ol’ country tunes at 6 p.m. Come tap your toes with everybody!

Friday: The women get out their pool sticks for some more friendly competition. The painting group also returns at 9:30 a.m. Painters bring their own supplies and share their time and ideas with other artists. Exercise equipment is available for use, along with a pingpong table or Wii player. At 1 p.m., a Coed Pool Tournament will be held. Check out the afternoon games of cards, pool, snooker, Texas Hold’em, dominoes and puzzle solving.
