Lady Pioneers win conference swim meet, boys finish second

The Stillwater Lady Pioneers won four events on Saturday to win the Centennial Conference Swimming Championship with a score of 402.
The Stillwater Pioneers had one first-place showing and placed second.
The SHS girls easily outdistance second-place Bartlesville by 151 points.
The Lady Pioneers won two relays. The 200 medley relay of Bailey McCullough, Darci Thomas, Courtney Carmen and Morgan Whetstine won in a time of 2 minutes, 2.02 seconds.
The Lady Pioneers then closed the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay with the quartet of Sydney Goad, McCullough, Thomas and Rachael Fieldsend winning in a time of 4:00.54.
Also for Stillwater, McCullough won the 200 individual medley in a time of 2:19.24, with Courtney getting second at 2:34.16 and Sydney Goad third at 2:37.47.
Thomas then claimed the title in the 100 breaststroke at 1:13.78 with Emily Gallaway coming in third at 1:21.48.
McCullough added a third in the 100 backstroke (1:05.83) with Goad fourth in the event (1:11.76).
Thomas was third in the 200 freestyle (2:06.19) and Fieldsend placed third in the 100 freestyle (1:00.06).
The SHS boys were led by the 200 medley relay in a winning time of 1:46.83. The group consisted of Clark Hattey, Blair E. Johnson, Moritz Schoppenthau and Clayton Harris.
Two other Stillwater relays placed second. The 200 freestyle relay of Andrew Zapata, Hattey, Brandon Westbrook and Hamilton Harris recorded a time of 1:43.63.
And the 400 freestyle relay of Johnson, Zapata, Clayton Harris and Schoppenthau was second at 3:32.08.
Also placing second for the Pioneers were Johnson in the 100 freestyle (51.56) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.20), Clayton Harris in the 200 IM (2:07.65) and 100 backstroke (1:00.99) and Hattey in the 500 freestyle (5:13.50).
Schoppenthau was third in both the 200 freestyle (1:55.45) and 100 butterfly (58.72), as was Zapata in the 50 freestyle (24.56) and Hamilton Harris in the 100 backstroke (1:19.29).
Stillwater will next compete in the state swimming meet at OCCC on Feb. 19-20.
