Trio of Stillwater runners shine at state meet

EDMOND, Okla. — The Stillwater High School cross country team may not have been able to keep the individual state championship in Stillwater, but it wasn’t for lack of effort.

Stillwater senior Zach Porterfield shaved off 23 seconds from his regional time, finishing 25th overall with a time of 17:00.93 during Saturday’s Class 6A state cross country meet at Edmond Santa Fe High School. Bo Frohock also finished 54th overall with a time of 17:28.24 for the Pioneers.

The Lady Pioneers may have only had one representative, but freshman Elise Rackley proved that she wasn’t intimdated by the rest of the field.

Rackley turned in one of her best times of the season, finishing 65th out of 107 runners with a time of 13:07.99.
