NEW: Services set for OSU ticket manager Tom Johnson

STILLWATER, Okla. — A memorial service for Oklahoma State Associate Athletic Director of Ticket Operations Tom Johnson will be held 3 p.m. Friday at LifeChurch in Stillwater. Johnson died Monday in Tulsa. He was 58.

Johnson served in OSU’s Athletics Ticket Office for 14 years, arriving in Stillwater in 1998. During his tenure, Cowboy football set season ticket sales records numerous times, and over the last three seasons the Cowboys have averaged over 50,000 fans per game for the only times in school history and drawn the 10 largest home crowds in school history. Cowboy and Cowgirl basketball also set attendance records during his OSU career.

Johnson previously served as the Athletics Ticket Manager at SMU from 1990-98 and as the Manager of Ticket Operations at Southern California from 1986-90. He also worked for Paciolan systems and in the athletics business office at the University of Illinois.

A native of Woodward, Johnson is survived by his wife, Lavern and five children – Matt, John, Sam, Peter and Sarah.
