RIPLEY, Okla. —
The Ripley High School baseball team continued its hot start to the fall season with a 9-1 run-rule victory over Olive Monday at home.
Houston Twoguns (1-1) picked up the win allowing one run on one hit in five innings. He struck out 11 and helped his cause with a double at the plate.
“He really got into a good rhythm from the third inning on,” Ripley coach Donnie Hoffman said. “He was a little wild to start, but he calmed down and retired 10 in a row at one point.”
Levi Morris was 2 for 3 with a double, while Dalton Watts was 2 for 2, including a walk-off single to drive in Morris in the bottom of the fifth.
Next Ripley (5-2) will face Wright City in the Binger Tournament on Thursday.
