CHATANOOGA, Tenn. —
The No. 2 Oklahoma State Cowboys wrestling team got off to a fast start on the first day of the Southern Scuffle. After the second round, Oklahoma State is in fourth with 28.5 points and only 3.5 points behind first-place Missouri.
Eddie Kilmara won his first match against Air Force’s Mitchell Brown by decision, 8-4. Jon Morrison won his first match in the 133-pound weight class with a 6-2 decision victory over Navy's Colton Rasche. In the 141-pound weight class, Julian Fiekert won his first match by pin over Kyle Casaletto of University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, then won by decision 11-5 over Missouri’s Trevor Jauch.
Jordan Oliver won his first match of the 149-bound bracket with a pin over Ben Hunter from Navy, 2:31 into the bout. Alex Dieringer won his first match in the 157-pound weight class by fall over Army's Christop Marchetti. Tyler Caldwell in the 165-pound weight class won his first match by major decision, 15-3. Chris Perry won his opening match by technical fall 18-2. Chris Chionuma won his first match by decision 10-3. Tyson Yoder and Alan Gelogaev won their first matches in the heavyweight class.
The Southern Scuffle resumes tomorrow in Chattanooga, Tenn.
