STILLWATER, Okla. — Quarterback Wes Lunt may not be the only freshman suiting up for the Oklahoma State football team come the season opener against Savannah State on Sept. 1.
Following Saturday's first fall scrimmage, OSU coach Mike Gundy identified several freshmen who have the potential of cracking the opening-day roster.
"Two of the freshmen wideouts will likely play - maybe another one, I'm not for sure," Gundy said. "(Cornerback) Kevin Peterson is probably going to play, (safety) Ashton Lampkin is probably going to play. But I think we counted eight of them up that have a good chance they could play in the first game.
"And we'll confirm that, for the most part, one week from today - unless something happens crazy, injury-wise."
