College Football Playoff launches website

IRVING, TEXAS — IRVING, Texas – The College Football Playoff announced a new website as part of a comprehensive new technology and digital media platform for college football fans at 

Later, the CFP will add new mobile, game day event-driven applications for the playoff semifinals and national championship.

The CFP has partnered with Silver Chalice and its digital technology division SportsLabs to manage the venture.  SportsLabs is a sports-focused technology company that has been working with the largest, most progressive players across sports.

“College football’s popularity keeps growing and the new playoff will only enhance this great game. Our fans want year-round, 24-hour access and news, and we will provide it,” said College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock.

The College Football Playoff will begin this fall. The semifinals will match the No. 1 seed vs. No. 4, and No. 2 will face No. 3 in games that will rotate annually among the Peach Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl.

The first semifinals will be Jan. 1 at the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl. The first national championship game will be Jan. 12  in Arlington, Texas.
