STILLWATER, Okla. —
Every basketball team has its leading scorer. Last season for the state champion Frontier Lady Mustangs it was Marissa Goodman. This season she is continuing where she left off as she led the team with 31 in victory over Oklahoma Bible Academy on Nov. 27.
“Marissa is one of the toughest players to guard in the state,” coach Clay Stephens said. “We need her to score for us every night.”
Goodman followed her performance with 27 against Newkirk last Friday, leading to a 51-36 Lady Mustang victory. Stephens said teams are starting to key on her which has allowed other players to step up.
“(Goodman) has open up shots for Bethany Childs and Sydney Pappan,” Stephens said.
Goodman will look to give Frontier the title in its home tournament that ends on Friday.
