STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State is ready to make things exciting at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

No. 24 ranked Cowboys host Texas Christian for a three-game home series. The Big 12 series will be the Cowboys’ conference home opener at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The series will continue at 3 p.m. Saturday and conclude at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Cowboys bumped their record to 17-8 and are looking to improve on their 1-2 conference record. TCU is 14-10 and 1-2 in Big 12 play.

The Cowboys defense should be ready to go when they take the field against TCU.

“They’re a very good team,” Oklahoma State coach Josh Holliday said. “They have some high-end pitching that can be very tough to deal with.”

Texas Christian will give the Cowboys a tough challenge on offense with its pitchers.

“We’ll need play well. We’ll need to pitch well, play really good defense and hopefully scratch enough runs against what’s probably the top five pitching staff’s in the country,” Holliday said. “It will be a good challenge for us. That’s what we’re looking forward to.”

The last meeting between TCU and OSU came on May 23, in the Big 12 Baseball Championship at Oklahoma City. The Horned Frogs were able to come away with an 8-4 victory over OSU on the opening day of the tournament.

Oklahoma State is riding a two-game winning streak and has not lost in Stillwater since March 14. The Cowboys are 10-5 at home this season. Good news for the Cowboys is that Texas Christian’s true road games the Horned Frogs are winless at 0-2.

Oklahoma State is hopeful for nice weather so that its fans can enjoy Big 12 baseball.

“We want to stay away from rain and doubleheaders so the fans can come out once a day and enjoy some good college baseball,” Holliday said. “I hope we get a good crowd.”
