CARNEY, Okla. — The Coyle Bluejackets and the Carney Bulldogs entered Thursday’s game looking to turn their seasons around. The Bluejackets got home runs from Laine Noble and Ryan Weathers in a 11-0 victory.

“It was good hitting the ball a little bit today,” Coyle coach Josh Sumrall said. “We had a slow start to the year. We stepped up scored some runs, our defense played well. Our pitchers threw strikes.”

Carney coach Lindsey Freeman said his team is still learning the game, after it committed four fielding errors.

“We got a long ways to go,” Freeman said. “I got three kids that have played. The rest of them haven’t played a lick. It’s tough because they haven’t figured it out yet.”

Noble put Coyle on the board as he took an 0-2 pitch over the left field wall for a three-run home run. Jared Weathers and Ryan Weathers, who both reached on errors scored on the hit. The Bluejackets added a run on an infield single by Noah Downey that scored Chance Warden. Noble hit two doubles and drove in a fourth run.

Brandon Jackson started for the Bulldogs (2-6) and struggled to find the strike zone — walking five and hitting two batters. Jackson was pulled in the third after he walked the first two batters. Tanner Lane finished the inning. Ryan Weathers helped Coyle pile on more as he hit a three-run home run to left.

Noble started for Coyle and held Carney to one hit but walked six while striking out six in three innings pitched. Ryan Weathers pitched the final two innings and struck four batters. Sumrall said Noble was solid on the hill.

“He’s been sick the past couple days and didn’t know how much energy he would have,” Sumrall said. “I wish he would have thrown more strikes to the bottom of their order. ... He gave us three solid innings and Ryan came in and shut the door.”

Ryan and Jared Weathers combined to score six of the Bluejackets’ 11 runs. Ty Wiseman hit a double and Davis hit a single for the Bulldogs’ only hits.

Coyle (3-7) will host Agra and Davenport at 3 p.m. Friday. Carney will visit Ripley and play Davenport in a 3-way at 4 p.m. Monday.
