Stillwater baseball sweeps doubleheader against Tulsa Edison

TULSA, Okla. — A night after the Stillwater High School baseball team’s offense sputtered in a 4-2 win over Norman North, the Pioneers’ bats had plenty of life in a doubleheader sweep over Tulsa Edison.

On the back of a two-run home run from Jon Littell, the Pioneers took the first game 8-1 before turning around and beating Edison 10-1 in the second game.

“It was good to get the win and get districts started on the right foot,” Stillwater coach Tony Holt said. “We did a good job and played really well both games.”

Nick Hollman (1-0) got the win in the first game for the Pioneers (3-2), going four innings before giving way to Colton Burney.

Will Fowler (1-0) also picked up his first win of the season in the second game.

Littell led the offensive charge for the Pioneers going 5-for-7 with five RBIs in the two games.

“I love the high energy stuff,” he said. “Even though it’s country, being able to rock it up, distorted guitars and just seeing the crowd, feeding off of that.”
