PUTNAM CITY, Okla. —
With more than 20 teams competing in the Putnam City track meet, the Stillwater High School track teams knew they were in for a challenge.
But even that didn’t stop several Stillwater athletes scoring in Friday’s meet.
Becca Worth won the pole vault, with a vault of 9 feet. Abbie Woods also brought home a second-place finish in the 400-meter run with a time of 59.8 seconds.
For the Pioneers, Ty Smith finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.2 seconds.
“It was a very tough meet,” Stillwater coach Rusty Atkins said. “We are still, like other teams, trying to fill in the holes and trying to figure out who will run what events at regionals. We’re asking some of our kids to run events that they might not have run before, trying to find out where we can place and score points but the kids are being patient and working hard.”
