Perkins-Tryon girls remain unbeaten with rout of Chandler

Pawnee boys also stay perfect on the season.

CHANDLER, Okla. — The Perkins-Tryon girls’ team remained undefeated with a 62-14 win over Chandler.

Each player on the Lady Demons (20-0) saw playing time. McKenzie Stanford led the team with 19 points. Jordan Gorham followed with 18.

P-T is three games away from closing out an undefeated season.

“We just take it one game at a time and don’t worry about rankings or records,” P-T coach Jerry Burnett said.

The Lady Demons will travel to Stroud at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.


Pawnee 93, Woodland 31

PAWNEE — It took a team effort in a high-scoring game that resulted in the Black Bears defeating Woodland 93-31.

Leading scorers for the Black Bears (18-0) were Nathan Brock and Paydon Moore, each with 16 points.

Pawnee will travel to play Glencoe on Monday.

Agra 53, Ripley 48

AGRA — Ripley came up short against Agra, falling 53-48.

The Warriors (16-7) were led by Caulden Greenfield with 13 points. Houston TwoGuns followed with 12.

Ripley will host Mulhall-Orlando on Tuesday.

Perry 46, Pawhuska 40

PERRY — The Maroons started out slow against Pawhuska but secured a 46-40 victory.

After being down by eight points, Perry came back in the second quarter.

“We outscored them 19-4, which got us going,” Perry coach Brandon Hight said.

Kale Hixon led the Maroons offensively with 18 points.

Perry will travel to Blackwell on Tuesday.

Cushing 47, Mannford 39

CUSHING — The Cushing Tigers defeated Mannford 47-39.

Cushing (13-4) was down by two points going into the second quarter, but outscored Mannford in the remaining three quarters.

Nick Tanner led the Tigers with 20 points, followed by Drew Wilson with 11.

Cushing is off until Friday when it will travel to play Berryhill.

Frontier 49, Summit Christian 47

RED ROCK — The Mustangs grabbed the lead in the third and hung on to defeat the Eagles 49-47.

Frontier led 18-13 after the first but was outscored 18-11 in the second quarter and trailed 31-29 at halftime. The Mustangs took control in the third and outscored Summit Christian 12-3 to take a 41-34 lead. Landon Norman led the Mustangs with 31 points.


Frontier 64, Summit Christian 41

RED ROCK — Frontier played even in the first half but came out strong in the second half to defeat Summitt Christian 64-41.

The Lady Mustangs (18-6) outscored the Lady Eagles 21-8 in the third quarter and 19-6 in the final quarter.

Frontier coach Clay Stephens said Marissa Goodman was the top player of the night. Goodman was the top scorer with 27 points and 15 rebounds. Jalissa Gum and Dana Black combined for 18.

The Lady Mustangs will travel to Pioneer at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Pawnee 49, Woodland 22

PAWNEE — The Lady Black Bears jumped out on the Lady Cougars in a 49-22 victory.

Pawnee led 24-11 at halftime and sealed the game with a 20-4 fourth quarter. Natalie Jensen led the team in scoring with 15 points. Lauren Bynum followed with 14.

Luther 44, Yale 31

LUTHER — Missing two starters and being away from home affected the Lady Bulldogs’ performance in their 44-31 loss against Luther.

After falling behind 19-7 in the first quarter, Yale was unable to catch up to the Lady Lions.

Yale coach Kevin Shellhorse said his team had an off shooting night and a few extra turnovers.

“We struggled a little bit inside,” Shellhorse said. “We played hard but we just couldn’t get them to go down.”

The Lady Bulldogs host Cleveland at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Ripley 66, Agra 30

AGRA —The Lady Warriors defeated Agra by more than doubling their score 66-30.

Ripley (22-1) jumped out to an early lead of 15-8. They were led by Jaclyn McKnight, who scored 26 points. Kylie Ladd and Whisper Lefthand combined for 25.

The Lady Warriors will face Mulhall-Orlando on their home court at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
